Children's University™

Children's University™

Starting this academic year, pupils have the exciting opportunity to be a part of the Children's University 'Passport to Learning' venture. Pupils who choose to get involved will have the chance to attend a 'cap and gown' graduation ceremony that marks their commitment to, and participation in, learning that takes place outside of the classroom. Activity Extra Art session
Available to Year 10 & 11
Details
Wednesday after school with Mrs Manning. Opportunity to complete classwork and coursework projects and extend Art skills.

Tues, Wed, Thurs Lunch time with Mr Kneale. The opportunity to complete classwork and coursework topics and extend Artistic skills

Usually meet on a Monday Lunchtime.
 
D of E
Activity Duke of Edinburgh's Award
Available to Year 10
Details
Usually meet on a Wednesday after school. Participants with work through the 4 sections of the Bronze award, including Expedition training before the 2 day expedition.
 
Drama

Available to All years
Details
Usually meet on a Thursday after school. Check the Joseph interest space on the learning platform, for rehersal information and videos.
 
Games
Activity Chess Club
Available to All Years
Details
Runs on a Friday after school in the Canteen.
 
Activity Fantasy Football League
Available to Staff, Parents and Students
Details
Runs all year and everyone can take part. Involves Mathematics and ICT skills.
 
Homework

Every Friday after school in the library.
 
Languages
Activity Languages Club

Details
We learn new languages (Spanish, Italian, Swahili), play games, do drama, watch foreign language films, contact schools abroad, make films, sing, try out foreign food, and lots more!
 
Music

Details
The school band have a 1 hour practise every Wednesday after school. The band perform at a number of special school events thoughout the school year.
 
Activity Music Lessons

Details
All students have the chance to learn an instrument of their choice when at school. Pupils can book a lesson once a week with an external music tutor.
 
Sport (Boys)

Badminton Club meets before school on Fridays (7.30am - 8.30am)
 
Activity Basketball
Available to Years 8-11
Details
Year 8 and 9 basketball practices take place on Monday lunchtimes, and Year 10 and 11 basketball practises are on Thursday lunchtimes. Basketball matches are either Monday or Thursday eafter school.
 
Activity Football

Details
Football matches take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school.
 
Sport (Girls)

Girls football practices take place on Fridays from 2.30pm - 3.30pm.
 
Activity Hockey
Available to Years 8-11
Details
Year 8 hockey practices take place on Wednesday lunchtimes, and Year 9 hockey practices or on Thursday lunchtimes. Hockey fixtures take place on Mondays after school, and senior hockey practices/fixtures are on Wednesdays after school
 
Activity Netball
Available to All Years
Details
The practices for Year 7 and 8 are at Tuesday lunchtimes; and the practices for Year 9, 10 and 11 are on Wednesday lunchtimes. Netball matches are played on Tuesdays or Wednesdays after school.
 
STEM
Activity STEM
Available to All year groups
Details
STEM is a fun group for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Meetings are on Mondays after school. To find out more visit the STEM page.
